Recent regulatory developments (AIFMD, MiFID II, FATCA, CRS, EMIR, GDPR and more) have created new operational challenges at global asset managers, financial institutions and the service providers that support them. Many firms are challenged by a fragmented array of legacy systems and are now looking to innovative, digital RegTech solutions to meet new transparency and reporting requirements.

RegTech – defined by the FCA as the use of new technologies to solve regulatory and compliance requirements more effectively and efficiently – has created new opportunities for asset managers to automate their reporting and reduce compliance risk. However with more than 500 new RegTech solutions coming to market, many private equity and real estate firms need support in order to identify, review, select and integrate these services and systems into a future-proof operating model.

To lead the RegTech practice, Giles Travers has joined Lionpoint Group as a Managing Director and will be based out of our London office. He has over 15 years’ experience of working with leading global asset managers in respect of technology, operations and legal strategy. Prior to Lionpoint, Giles was a funds and capital markets lawyer before moving into senior roles within the alternative asset management industry.
